We are seeking an experienced Senior Recovery Specialist to handle complex recovery matters, manage high-value portfolios and mentor junior recovery staff.
The Role
The Senior Recovery Specialist will play a key role in managing a portfolio of commercial recovery matters from instruction through to resolution.
This is a client facing role requiring strong communication skills, negotiation ability and the confidence to manage sensitive commercial situations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing appropriate recovery strategies, engaging professionally with businesses and individuals, and delivering positive outcomes for clients.
This role would suit an experienced recovery professional who understands that successful debt recovery requires more than simply requesting payment — it requires analysis, strategy, negotiation and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Case & Portfolio Management
- Manage complex and high-value recovery matters
- Develop and implement effective recovery strategies
- Conduct negotiations with debtors and third parties
- Review and assess recovery outcomes
- Maintain detailed and professional case records
- Escalate matters as required and provide updates to clients
Professional Recovery Practice
- Conduct recovery activity in line with regulatory requirements
- Apply professional standards and best practice
- Respond to queries and concerns promptly and professionally
- Work with enforcement agents and professional advisers
- Document recovery activity in accordance with procedures
Team Support & Development
- Mentor and support junior recovery specialists
- Share knowledge and provide guidance on recovery strategy
- Review complex matters and provide recommendations
- Support consistency of professional standards
- Assist with training of newer team members
Client Management
- Maintain professional relationships with clients
- Provide regular updates on matter progress
- Understand and deliver against client expectations
- Support client retention and satisfaction
- Report on portfolio performance as required
Skills & Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in commercial debt recovery, including:
- Managing recovery cases and portfolios
- Developing recovery strategies
- Negotiating payment solutions
- Understanding credit control and payment terms
- Working with business clients
- Knowledge of enforcement procedures
- Ability to assess recovery potential
You should be comfortable managing your own workload, taking initiative and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues.
